NCAA Awards Update Including Most Dominant

0

The NCAA has updated the standings for the season-long awards for this week. Jake Jones of Ithaca has moved into the lead in falls with 21. Mitchell Arch of Case and Timothy Glynn of RIT sit one behind with 20 each. Gavin Hollingsworth of Alvernia leads in tech falls with 19, four clear of Joe Pins of Wartburg and Justice Hockenberry-Folk of York. Defending NCAA Champion Michael Petrella of Baldwin Wallace is tied with Pins in the Most Dominant Standings with 5.21 team points per match.

The Most Dominant Wrestler standings are calculated by adding the total number of team points awarded through match results and dividing that number by the total number of matches wrestled. A wrestler must have 16 matches within his division to be included. Points per match are awarded as follows:

  • Fall, forfeit, injury default or DQ = 6 points (-6 points for a loss)
  • Tech falls = 5 points (-5 points for a loss)
  • Major decision = 4 points (-4 points for a loss)
  • Decision = 3 points (-3 points for a loss)

Only matches within the same division are used to calculate these standings.
