Also, starting Monday, d3wrestle.com will be publishing a preview for each of the NCAA qualifying tournaments and will throughout the week attempt to predict all 160 NCAA Qualifiers.

Why isnt 285 Carothers from Heidelberg Ranked? Pinned the 10th ranked guy in 44 seconds. Also there are guys in there that he has had 1 or 2 point matches with including Laurent.
How about the fact that SJU has beaten…..
– North Central
– Heidelberg
– Cornell
– Luther
……and is only rated 17th? Give me a break.
Their only 5 losses are
– UW Lacrosse by a team point
– St Cloud State (DII) by an overtime match
– Delaware Valley
– Concordia twice (last loss was a 5 match split. A pin at 184 against highly ranked Baxter sealed the dual. Willaert also recently beat Neumann at 197 at the North Country)
If Concordia would have been seeded properly at the National Duals, then SJU would have taken at least 6th.
Who’s running these ranking anyways? Do some research. If rankings are based on results, at least give SJU some credit with the #9 ranking, like they deserve.
Excuse me, SJU should be 10th. LaCrosse still gets the nod at #9.
Billson, it sounds like you have a solid argument but please don’t put much weight on these rankings. It has pretty much been established that the committee is biased and has other adjendas in mind when devising these. The best thing to do is continue to support AV’s rankings and encourage him to add a team list in the mix. And who knows? Maybe if everyone continues to openly share their discust with the NWCA rankings, they might change.
133 is a joke. Ball beats Kelly. They have a chance to wrestle again at Conference Duals and Wartburg doesn’t wrestle Kelly, they put in a back-up. (I hate it when guys split and then coaches won’t wrestle one to salvage a qualifier tournament ranking.Shows me no confidence…) Then Ball pins Kremer from Del Valley. He was handedly beating him at the time of the pin. I guess time will tell.
Not to mention SJU has beaten Augsburg… 🙂

give some love to cucciniello from jwu .. almost beat kelly at the desert duals in vegas and will beat him in a rematch..sju is where they are for a reason… and plus jwu also has 5 losses and is 22. Get over yourself the rankings are solid and to be totally honest if sju deserved to be 9 they would be ablt\ to beat everyone ranked 10 and down and they cant.. so deal with it

Del val is by far the most talented team in DIII this year and deserve a number 1 ranking, they will crown four national champs (Sheetz, MANTELLA, Wilcox, and Biquist) the other six NCAA qualifiers will be all americans. Mantella will get OW and Sheetz will get the pinning award…..watch out mid west the natinal championship is coming back to the east coast where wrestling counts.

First off, Sheetz is not going to be national champ. He will not beat Rush. He never has, and never has been even close to beating Rush. Bilquist will have a tough time winning it as well, but he has a heck of a ot better chance than Sheetz. And lastly, Del Val will not have 10 all-americans. I will guarantee that one.
Dont hate Testy Del Val is where its at this year, east coast wrestling is where the championship needs to be everyone know PA is the best wrestling state in the country…

Why, as a 26 year old junior in college, do you still feel it necessary to talk yourself up on the internet? honestly, all this tough talk is middle school stuff. you couldnt hang in D1 now you come on these forums and talk trash like your out of everyone’s league. the way you talk you better tech everyone at nationals…how bout this for trash talk: i doubt you make the finals and can garauntee you wont win OW, Wernimont is for sure the best wrestler in D3 followed by Vanderhyde. I’m not hating on Del Val, I’m just stating the facts. The only way Sheetz will ever beat Rush is if he throws him in that headlock (which is how he wins 80% of his matches). I watched those 2 wrestle this year and Sheetz tried his headlock 5 times. Let me repeat that, 5 times, and never finished it. Del Val will not have 10 All-Americans thats just a fact also. They have a good team but they aren’t that good.

I agree with 133, Heidelbergs 133 Lawler beat John Carrolls guy pretty good and he hasnt even been mentioned at all.

I think that Del Val definitely has a shot at winning it all this year. There is more parody in each of the weight classes, which means that it’s anyone’s ball game.

First off Mantella is a joke he an internet gangster that can some what wrestle..couldnt handle d1 so now hes tryna act big in d3…he wont get past vanderhyde, kherli, or owens..that drunk old man just needs to hang up the shoes and get a nice santitation job at del val bc hes not gonna be a national champ
Gail, Im a cornell fan but noticed that Kelly had beaten ball 2 of 3 this year so i dont know how at this point at least, not rank kelly ahead of ball.
Also, at last years confrence duals I was intrested in clayton and that wartburg kid (cant remember name) but clayton didnt wrestle although he did wrestle in a different dual the same day, so maybe theres always a good reason the fans shouldnt gripe about
Of course Mantella is going to win it. He has won every match no contest this season. Get off the haterade and jump on the band wagon because Mantella and Del Val are going to be Champs….
I’ll be honest, I didn’t remember that and still don’t after looking up the results. I can’t tell you why he didn’t wrestle. You make a very good point, though. I’m guessing O didn’t wrestle Clayton for the same reason Miller didn’t wrestle Kelly, and I’m still not in favor of either. It’s still wrong whether it’s my son or not. Just put them on the mat. I do know Brandon has won only 1 out of 3. That’s why wrestling at the Conference duals would have been nice. I do get why Kelly is higher, but not Klemer.

MANTELLA(OW) will not be scored on at nationals! EVER! he left D-1 cuz the competition was too easy. I know the two that were in the finals here at the IIAC will be giving Mantella a lot of trouble. He probably won’t get out from bottom. And you don’t leave d1 because it is too easy and move down you idiot. He probably knew he would never qualify for the NCAAs d1 so he left and figured I will wait till I am 30 and come back d3 and see what I can do to the 20 year olds.

Okay I have to admit I’m Vanderhyde’s number one fan and I’m just happy MANTELLA(ow) is even allowing him to compete. Hopefully Olivets coaches do the right thing and forfeit to MANTELLA(ow) if they happen to meet up in the braket. I wouldn’t want Vanderhyde to get injured and not have a shot to be an AA. Its too bad they can’t just give MANTELLA(ow) the national title right now and let everyone else wrestle for 2nd…. that would make more sense… MANTELLA!!!!(ow)
