With Team Captains Cole, Gilman and Spencer anchoring the lineup, the Southern Maine team is hoping to improve on last year’s conference finish both in dual meets and in the NEWA Championships.  They will need to replace All-Americans Mike Morin (graduated) and Matt Ulrich (transferred to Delaware Valley) if they hope to make a return trip to the NCAA Championships, however.  Five transfers will bolster the lineup along with a pair of multiple time Maine state placewinners in Billy Gauthier and Stephen martin.  The team took a big step last year in having multiple All-Americans just one year after garnering the programs first ever All-American award, but those wrestlers have moved on, and it is up to the remaining starters and new wrestlers to continue the upward trajectory.
