Ryan Riggs Named Head Wrestling Coach at Mount Union

Ryan Riggs will return to Ohio to become the next coach at the University of Mount Union. Riggs spent the past five seasons at Ferrum College. He was an assistant from 2016-2020 and took over as head coach for the 2020-21 season. He also has had coaching stops at Heidelberg and Washington & Lee. The Ohio native wrestled for nearby Massillon Perry High School and at Cleveland State University where he wrestled from 2003-2008. He takes over for Josh Malave who left Mount Union earlier this year to become the head coach at Case Western Reserve.

Ryan Riggs has been named the head wrestling coach at the University of Mount Union.

Riggs, a native of Perry Township, Ohio, comes to Mount Union from Ferrum (Va.) College where he started in 2016 as an assistant coach, then promoted to associate head coach in 2018 before being named head coach in March of 2020.
