Wrestler of the Week: Nick Carr
The d3wrestle.com Wrestler of the Week is Nick Carr of Washington & Jefferson. Carr won the 165 lbs. title at the John Summa Invitational at Baldwin-Wallace this past weekend. He won three matches to take the title, including a 5-2 win over Brockport’s Roy Daniels, the #5 ranked wrestler in the latest d3wrestle.com Rankings.
Carr is now 4-0 this season for the Presidents after transferring from Division II Seton Hill after the fall semester. The South Fayette, Pennsylvania, native was the 2010 AA state champion and wrestled for two seasons at Kent State, compiling a 12-4 record in 2012 and at 21-10 record last season. Washington & Jefferson next takes the mat on Friday against Thiel and Waynesburg in the PAC Championship meet.

Wrestler of the Week: Nazar Kulchytskyy

The d3wrestle.com Wrestler of the Week is Nazar Kulchytskyy of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Kulchytskyy won the 157 lbs. championship at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational this past weekend. He started out with a 19 second fall in the first round before pinning his next two opponents in the first period as well. In the semifinals, he defeated Josh Tardy of North Central 13-3 before dispatching Jon Garrison of Mount Union 13-4 in the finals. For his efforts, he was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. He is now 24-2, with both of his losses to Division I opponents.
Kulchytskyy, a senior from Sosnivka, Ukraine, is a two time NCAA Champion, winning at 157 lbs. in 2012 and 165 lbs. in 2013. His career record is now 126-5. Last season, Kulchytskyy was named the d3wrestle.com Wrestler of the Year. He started this season at 165 lbs. before dropping to 157 at the Midlands, and he has remained at the lower weight since then. Oshkosh wrestles conference foe Eau Claire on Friday and will be attending the Blugold Open on Saturday. After that, they will compete in the WIAC Championships the following Saturday.

Wrestler of the Week: Dylan Foley

The d3wrestle.com Wrestler of the Week is Dylan Foley of Springfield College. Foley won all four of his matches at 165 last week to help Springfield to a victory over Norwich on Wednesday and a 2nd place finish in the NEWA Duals on Sunday. Along the way, Foley defeated d3wrestle.com Contender David Pinto of Norwich and #5 ranked Collin Crowell of Roger Williams. He also won over Shermot of Coast Guard and Conrad of Rhode Island.
Foley, a junior from Southborough, Massachusetts, ran his season record to 24-4 with his wins on Sunday. He was 3rd at Ithaca, 3rd at Doug Parker, 3rd at Messiah Petrofes, and first at Williams. He now has a career record of 62-27. Springfield next competes in a pair dual meets this weekend, taking on Wesleyan on Saturday and TCNJ on Sunday.
