I am curious to know how wunnicke takes 4th out of 6 guys and gets a wildcard. Interesting.
It was a deep weight class at 133 for the WIAC. Mileski beating Wunnicke really switched it up though as he was only a contender. I think if Mileski or Fredricksen had gotten 4th they would have only taken 3 at 133 but all 4 do deserve to be there.
I understand anyone can be beaten on any given day. Saying that, for someone who isn’t even ranked to beat the #2 kid in the nation or #3 in some poll seems to me like maybe he is overrated. Not only did he get beat once but twice.
I agree he was overrated all year, but the Platteville coach was part of the ranking committee. He did get beat twice, I’m biased but I’d rather have Gibson at 165 there instead of 4 at 133 😉
I never said he was overrated I just said maybe he was since he coasted all year long then got beat twice by two kids he is technically supposed to beat. It will all get settled next week I suppose. IMO you need to earn your way to nationals and this was the weekend to do it and he clearly didn’t
