Brian Anderson

The 2022 d3wrestle.com Coach of the Year is Brian Anderson of Wabash College. Anderson coached the Little Giants to a best-ever runner-up finish and school record five All-Americans at the 2022 NCAA Championships. Wabash finished one point behind Wartburg to earn second place. Carlos Champagne, Kyle Hatch, and Jack Heldt all finished as national runners-up. Alex Barr was 3rd, and Charles Baczek was 6th. Max Bishop and Daniel Uribe also qualified for the tournament. Anderson was named Tournament Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the event.

Two weeks earlier, Wabash won the Central Region, outdistancing second place Baldwin Wallace by 23 points. Their seven NCAA qualifiers tied a school record. Max Bishop and Jack Heldt won regional titles at 285 and 197, respectively. Anderson was also named regional coach of the year.

Wabash finished the season with an 8-1 dual meet record highlighted by a second place finish at the NWCA National Duals. They also won the Adrian Invitational, Manchester Spartan Mat Classic, and the Mid States Invitational.

Anderson became the head coach at Wabash in the 2004-2005 season. This season marked the fourth time in his tenure that the Little Giants earned a top four finish at the NCAA Championships and the second time that Wabash has had three NCAA finalists in one season. This is the first time Anderson has been named d3wrestle.com Coach of the Year. Congratulations to Brian Anderson.
