Season Outlook:
The Colonels will look to build off the two NCAA Qualifiers from last year and Austin Fashouer will look lead some others in his quest to get back to the NCAA Tournament. Cameron Butka, James Geiger, Jack Bauer, John Devito and Nevin Rauch will all look to improve on their previous NCAA Regional placements. Wilkes will also return several wrestlers that saw season ending injuries last season in Mike Richardson, Kyle Tino, Cody Dix and Sean McCurdy. The room will be very competitive as Charles Everdale, Chris Nuss and Hunter Lowe all won over 19 matches last year and will challenge those ahead of them for starting rolls and opportunities this season. Very nice incoming class that includes 9 of 13 that have state qualifier or better credentials on their high school resumes and transfer Caleb Burkhart was NCAA Mideast Regional 5th last year. The Colonels with an experienced group and youthful talent will look forward to a great competition schedule again which includes the 89th Wilkes Open and are returning to the NWCA National Duals in Louisville, Kentucky this winter.
