Baden and Polin Resign as Co-Head Wrestling Coaches

Worcester, MA — WPI Director of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Dana L. Harmon announced today the resignation of co-head wrestling coaches Lance Baden and Rob Polin.  Baden had been the head coach the past three years while Polin, after two stints as an assistant coach, joined him as a co-head coach in the fall of 2009.

Baden, a two-time New England Champion and Hall of Fame wrestler for the Engineers, also served six years with the program as an assistant coach before taking over prior to the 2007-2008 campaign.  Polin was also a standout wrester for the Crimson and Gray, garnering a pair of All-New England awards.

WPI finished the 2009-2010 season with a 2-17-1 dual meet record.  The Engineers placed 12th at the conference championship meet with senior Carl Anderson (Billerica, MA) finishing second at 125 pounds and junior Tyler Howe (Danbury, CT) placing fifth at 149 pounds.
