Season outlook:
Stevens Point brings another solid team into the 2011-2012 season, though the loss of NCAA runner-up Ben Engelland will hurt. They should only have one senior in the lineup, however, so the future also looks good for the Pointers. A pair of NCAA qualifiers lead the team, starting with 2010 qualifier Joe Mileski who will be at 133. Jordan Schulte has qualified for the NCAA tournament in both of his years at Stevens Point and will be looking for his first trip to the podium. Ben Strobel was a WIAC runner-up who just missed making the trip to La Crosse last year. Of the incoming freshman, the most likely to make the lineup seems to be Andy Borchardt, a 3rd place finisher in the Wisconsin state tournament last year. The lineup is rounded out by WIAC 3rd place finisher Ryan Conat at 174 and 20 match winner Jordan Kust at 141. It will be tough to knock off La Crosse in the WIAC tournament, but this team has the experience to put up a good showing.
