  • Men’s Basketball
  • Wrestling

The College of New Jersey invites applications for the position of Athletics Intern Apprentice for the above listed sports. This 20.5 hour per week position is designed for those who have a sincere interest and desire to pursue a career in athletic coaching. Responsibilities include assisting the respective coach in all areas of a competitive sport program to learn valuable coaching skills, administrative duties within the Department of Athletics in the areas of game management, marketing, facilities, etc. and assisting in the area of Residential Education including preseason and break housing coverage. Additional comparable duties may be assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Athletics & Recreation. This is a two-year temporary appointment with the option for a 3rd year with the support of the supervisor/coach.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A valid driver’s license
  • The ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including nights and/or weekends
  • College playing experience in the respective sport

Salary and Benefits

Compensation includes an annual stipend of $9,000.00, an on-campus meal program and may include housing.
