MyHOUSE Wrestler of the Week: AJ Kowal

The MyHOUSE Wrestler of the Week is AJ Kowal of Stevens Institute of Technology. Kowal and the rest of the Ducks traveled to Iowa for a dual meet with Cornell followed by the Matman Invitational. Between the dual and the tournament, Kowal pinned all five of his opponents to win the 184 lbs. title, capped off with a pin in 1:21 over the then #8 ranked Bryan Levsen of Wartburg in the finals.

Kowal, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, is now 28-1 with 15 falls on the year. He won championships at the Ithaca Invitational, Doug Parker Invitational, and Cornell Matman Invitational. After starting the year at 197, Kowal dropped to 184 in early January. His career record is now 58-5, and he finished 4th in last year’s East Regional. He is currently ranked 4th at 184 in the latest MyHOUSE/ Rankings. Kowal and the Ducks will take on conference foes Muhlenberg and Ursinus on Sunday at NYU.
