Coach Mark Hawald begins his 2nd season at Mount Union with an eye toward the future. Just one of the three OAC placewinners from last year return in 149 lb. Sean Dreger, but a large group of freshmen will try to fill the gap left by some graduating seniors. The incoming class consists almost entirely of wrestlers from the Northeast corner of Ohio that Mount Union calls home, and there are more than 10 Ohio state placewinners represented, including 2x placers Colin Dennis at 125, Bryan Skoff at 157, and Derrick Hesson at 285. Heidelberg and John Carroll may top the OAC, but if Mount Union can continue to bring in classes full of state placewinners, they may soon be known for more than just football.
