Franchi up next at Elmira

John Franchi has been named head men’s coach at Elmira, the school announced Thursday. He succeeds C.J. Bostwick, who left the school for other opportunities. Franchi is an Elmira Heights native and wrestled for both Corning Community College and Cortland State, graduating in 2007. He also owns Fifth Round Fitness & MMA in Elmira. He takes over a Soaring Eagles program that is heading into its third season since the program’s return in 2021.

“We believe we have found the right person to develop our Men’s Wrestling team into a respected program. John will work tirelessly and enthusiastically to accomplish all tasks put in front of him. He has strong ties within the community and with section 4 and 5 Wrestling which will help him achieve ours and his goals.”
