The d3wrestle.com/WWSport.com Wrestler of the Week is Jason Brew of Olivet College.  Brew, a senior from Sparta, Michigan, was the Outstanding Wrestler a the Pete Willson Invitational at Wheaton College.  The 31 team tournament brings together some of the top teams in Division III, and Brew was the champion for the second time.  He won four matches to take the title, winning by a 15-4 major decision against Zach Mizer of Heidelberg in the finals.  His efforts helped Olivet to a 7th place finish in the tournament won by Division II UW-Parkside.

Brew, a physical education major, is now 37-3 on the season and has yet to drop a match to a Division III opponent.  He was also the Outstanding Wrestler at the 19 team Ohio Northern Invitational.  He has been ranked #2 in Division III on both sets of rankings for the entire season behind only Wartburg’s Aaron Wernimont, the wrestler who defeated him in the NCAA finals last season.  He and teammate Kyle Vanderhyde are both ranked second in the nation after both were NCAA All-Americans last year.  Both are likely to crack the 40 win barrier before the NCAA Championships and will be looking to bring home NCAA titles.  Olivet is next in action Saturday at the Mid States Conference Tournament before taking two weeks off until the Midwest Regional hosted by Trine.
