COSIDA Academic All-Americans Named

The Division III Men’s At-Large Academic All-America team was named today by CoSIDA. First, second, and third team Academic All-Americans were named from those previously identified as Academic All-District.

The Men’s At-Large team is made up of athletes who compete in Wrestling, Fencing, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Lacrosse, Rifle, Skiing, Swimming, Tennis, Volleyball, and Water Polo.

Daniel Del Gallo of Southern Maine, Stephen Jarrell of Johnson & Wales, and Riley Lefever were named First Team Academic All-Americans. Lefever was a repeat selection on the first team, while Del Gallo was a second team member last year. Lefever and Del Gallo were NCAA Champions this year while Jarrell was a runner-up.

Adam Presler of Concordia-Moorhead was the lone wrestler on the second team, and he was an NCAA qualifier this season.

Brandon Conrad of Lycoming, Lance Evans of Wartburg, Justin Kreiter of Luther, John Messinger of NYU, and Ben Swarr of Messiah were third team members this year. Conrad was a second team member in 2016 while Evans and Swarr are repeating on the third team. Swarr and Kreiter were NCAA runners-up, Evans was 4th in the NCAA, and Messinger was an NCAA qualifier.
