d3wrestle.com Rankings #7

Lots of changes this week as many top wrestlers clashed at the various events around the country. This week was a tough one to figure, and that is a great indication that there is a lot of parity near the top of many weight classes. It should make for a great NCAA Championships.

  5. Augsberg 7th
That is a stunner…I mean they lost to JWU I couldn’t put them ahead of JWU…I just couldn’t do it…I saw the dual at nationals and Augsberg lost….

  6. no disrespect 2 colemon of elmhurst is meant with my reply, im directing my comment towards the person who does the rankings here.. how does the backup come in & after 4 mathches where he goes 3-1 assume the spot of his teamate at the #3 spot, just curious??? hes 3-1 & yes i realize he lost 2 camacho 4-1 & that in itself is an impreesive loss, but none the less at the end of the day its still a loss. there are kids that have 23 wins & 2 losses & have beat 2 ranked opponents & still havent cracked ur top 10.. care to explain ur reasoning plz?

  7. Coleman also wrestled unattached at the Pointer Open where he defeated Camacho and Scholten, so he has actually split with Camacho this year.

  8. Couldn’t agree with you more, ranking committe, and Wesleyan beat J&W right after that match. Not sure how you can have Augs in front of either, and Wilkes beat Wesleyan, they may be one of the hottest teams in the country right now. P.S. east coaster, Wilkes beat Messiah two week ago.

  9. helbnt ne

Every team has its issues No excuses!
Its part of the sport. East Coaster’s rankings said it correctly after the top 5 or 6 its a massive headache how to rank these teams.

I don’t know what Augsburg’s issues are. The real ranking committee may have given some consideration to Augsberg in that regard. I don’t know.

Hat’s off to JWU and Wesleyan they did wrestle well.

Wilkes and Del Valley hot right now and wrestling very good.

No matter how you stack it up….this is good for the sport of Wrestling….

  10. Good point Helbnt, I was only basing Messiah ahead of Wilkes based on how well Messiah did this past weekend at the Budd Whitehill Duals, I did not know they had already wrestled head to head previously. And I agree with you, how does this committee have Augsburg in the top 10 still?! I understand there dominance in years past but the top teams should be based on where they stand up to teams this year! Who cares about how many national championships they won, they lost to an unranked team at the national duals!

  11. HellBn NE / East Coaster

I am thinking that since the “Official” rankings haven’t been released, that maybe they released them to a few specific sites to get a sense of opinion….That maybe the actual official rankings maybe different that what was picked off (X) site. I want to be careful to protect who ever released them and not cause trouble.

    I hope this makes sense…..thoughts?

  12. Listen, we all know how hard it is to do these rankings, and I for one really appreciate what you guys do, it makes for good discussion about the sport we love. And your right Ranking, it is good for the sport. Thanks guys! P.S. I still think Augsburg is ranked to high 🙂

  13. i’m wondering when Al-Ghoul (Elmhurst) will get the recognition he deserves? he’s 16-6 which is better than a few of his teammates who made HM. he just beat Tuttle and also had a really tight loss to Conroy (6-5, after leading most of the match).

  14. ok so camacho gets beat by a 13-10 wrestler from cornell named ben rosen last night, so how over rated is camacho wen he gets beat by an unranked wrestler who is 13-10?? my humble opinion hes not even a top 10 guy at this point.. # 3 ranked wrestlers dont get beat by wrestlers that are 13-10. my opionion hes been over ranked by the commitee all yr long

  15. At the time of this ranking, Camacho had three losses: 1 each to the two guys ahead of him and one to Coleman (#4) who he beat in their most recent meeting. He also has a win over #5 Scholten. Prior to yesterday’s loss, he was ranked exactly where he should have been. To say otherwise shows that you’re either not paying attention or biased.

  16. i will admit i missed the 1 win against scholten & as far as ur biased remark, not even close 2 being right.. i think hes a fabulous talent 7 a very nice young man.. my remark was not at the young man, but rather 2 the committee.. wat i should have stated is this.. now that hes lost 2 a non ranked opponent who is 13-10 they should now remove him fromthe top 10.. is that more 2 ur liking av??
