Richard Carlson of UW-La Crosse won the FILA Junior World Team Trials in Greco-Roman wrestling at 84kg this past weekend in Madison, Wisconsin. Carlson waited for the winner of the mini-tournament due to his championship at the FILA Junior National tournament in Las Vegas in April. Carlson dispatched Nick Corba of the Cleveland State and the NEORTC two matches to none, winning by fall in 1:36 and 1:42.
Carlson was a 4th place finisher at the Midwest Regional this past season at 174 lbs., compiling a 15-9 record as a sophomore for La Crosse. Click below to see videos of Carlson via the USA Wrestling YouTube page.
