Edit: It seems like some of these numbers are not quite accurate based on the result. It is also not clear when the count was done. Mulder of Wartburg has 10 DIII falls and doesn’t appear, Arch actually has 14 falls, and Ross of JWU has 19 tech falls according to TrackWrestling. There are certainly other errors.
The first listing of the NCAA’s season long awards has been published. This set includes just most falls and most tech falls. The most dominant listing should be out later in the season. Both the falls and tech falls lists include only matches within division. As of today, Mitchell Arch of Case Western Reserve leads with 9 falls, and Michael Ross of Johnson & Wales leads with 9 tech falls. See the full lists below.
NCAA wrestling award standings debut for the 2022 season
Falls
Tech Falls
Michael Ross of JWU has 20 tech falls as of 1/24/22
This isn’t correct for some reason. Look up Michael Rosses record. He has 19 TF against D3 opponents and 1 against an unattached wrestler. Not sure why the system isn’t calculating it correctly
Braden Birt 12 falls, 8 tech falls?
Javen Estrada of North Central has 16 falls
Cole shaughnessy RWU has 15 falls.
