Gettysburg Preview

After finishing the 2007-2008 season with just 10 on the roster Gettysburg is looking better this year with 18 on the team.  The loss of 2x National Qualifier and 115 match winner Matt Shank will be tough, but 165 lb. Pat Doherty will drop to 149 to fill the gap.  Back for his final year at 157 is Gettysburg’s first All-American since 1998, Andrew Goldstein.  He will return to full action in the 2nd semester seeking a third Centennial title.  Sophomore 285 Bobby Christopher will also challenge for the Centennial championship.  For the first time a few years, the Bullets will have a 125 lb. wrestler as a trio of freshman will compete there.  National Prep placewinner Matt Danielson will challenge to fill the spot left by a graduated senior, but he’ll have plenty of competition to get in the lineup.  Wheaton transfer Luke Mitchell will battle for 174 as last year’s starter, DJ Neri, drops to 165 to battle with NJ qualifier Anthony Iorio.  Ben Cutrell has settled in at 197 and should fill that weight all season long after half a season there in 2008.
