Season outlook:
The Bluejays look to improve on their 17th place finish at the NCAA Championships. Gone are NCAA Champ Ryan Prater and qualifier Danny Balderas, but an experienced group of returners and talented class of newcomers should help the team improve upon last year’s results. Leading the returning group is 2013 All-American Miguel Venecia. After an injury filled 2014 campaign, a healthy Venecia looks to make it back on the podium. Also returning are regional placers and 2 year starters Nick Dinardo and Jim Spangler, along with the anticipated return of Alex Maynard, who missed the entire season due to a serious injury. All three look to be key parts of the lineup this season, along with Elmhurst’s “Freshman of the Year” Bobby Schillinger and Zack Urbanski, who has been biding his time the past 2 seasons behind talented upperclassmen.
