DIII Wrestlers in Freestyle at Bill Farrell

Several wrestlers with Division III histories placed at the Bill Farrell International in freestyle this past weekend. Michael Tortorice qualified for the world team trials with a second place finish. Former Greco-Roman world team member Joe Rau also finished second in his weight class in freestyle to also earn a spot in the trials.

The top-placing medalist at each weight who had not already qualified eared a spot in next month’s world team trials. Since Zane Richards, the champion at 57kg and Michael Macchiavello, the champion at 97kg, have already qualified, runners-up Tortorice and Rau got the spots at their weights.

226 athletes are now qualified for the trials across freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women’s wrestling. Here are those who have wrestled in Division III. The top three finishers from the 2022 NCAA DIII Championships are eligible to enter the Greco-Roman trials but must indicate their interest to USA Wrestling ahead of time.
