Alum Josh Malave returns to Mount Union as next head coach
Josh Malave, a 2012 graduate of the school, has been named the ninth head wrestling coach in Mount Union history. He takes the reigns from Bill Schindel who recently left to become the head coach at Adrian College. Malave has spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Firelands High School in Oberlin, Ohio. He was a two time NCAA qualifier for the Purple Raiders and placed 7th at 141 lbs. at the 2012 NCAA Championships. Mount Union was 12-9 last year and finished 9th at the Mideast Region. Josh Malave has been named head wrestling coach at the University of Mount Union.
“We are confident that the hard work and dedication to wrestling Josh has shown so far in his career will give him the ability to motivate our student-athletes,” commented athletic director Larry Kehres.
