2013 Coach of the Year: Steve Marianetti

The 2013 d3wrestle.com Coach of the Year is Steve Marianetti of Elmhurst. Marianetti just completed his 11th and best season at Elmhurst College, coaching the Blue Jays to a 2nd place finish in the NCAA Championships and crowning a program best five All-Americans along the way. Joe Rau and Mike Benefiel became the 2nd and 3rd NCAA Champions from Elmhurst, and Marianetti was named the NWCA Division III Coach of the Year for the second time at the championships.

Elmhurst finished the season with a 12-1 dual meet record, losing only to NCAA Champion Wartburg in the finals of the National Duals. They won their own Al Hanke Invitational and the CCIW Championships while finishing second at the Midwest Regional. All five of their NCAA qualifiers landed on the All-American podium in Cedar Rapids.

Marianetti has been at Elmhurst for since 2002 and has put up a dual meet record of 102-42-2 in 11 season. He has coached three NCAA Champions, 22 All-Americans, and 35 NCAA qualifiers. Elmhurst has won six CCIW championships during his tenure and placed in the NCAA top ten six times. Congratulations to Coach Marianetti on being named the d3wrestle.com Coach of the Year  for 2013.
