Head Coach Dave Mitchell, Luther’s all-time leader for career wins, begins his 14th year and has accumulated a career dual meet record of 169-72-6. During his tenure, he has led Luther to six top-five finishes at the NCAA Division III National Championships in the last nine years. His teams have finished third in 2006, 2005 and 2004, fifth in 2003, and fourth in 2001 and in 2007. In 2004 he was named Division III National Coach of the Year. He has coached 41 All-Americans, 8 national champions, four national runner-ups, 30 Scholar All-Americans, two NCAA Postgraduate Scholars and 4 CoSIDA Scholar All-Americans.

During his collegiate years at UW-La Crosse, he was an All-American, the WIAC MVP, and two-time NCAA Division III Academic All-American.
