Former Springfield College All-American Daryl Arroyo completed his 21 seasons as the head wrestling coach at his alma mater in 2010-11. Under his tutelage, the Springfield College wrestling program posted a 303-163-6 overall dual-meet record, good for an outstanding .643 winning percentage.

Arroyo coached 27 NCAA All-Americans, 69 national qualifiers, 54 Scholar All-Americans, and 45 conference champions. His final squad won the New England Wrestling Association championship in 2011. It was Springfield’s 10th NEWA title since and including the 1996-97 season.

Arroyo earned his bachelor’s degree in health fitness and was a Springfield College wrestling captain in 1984. A three-time national qualifier, Arroyo placed sixth in the 118-pound weight class at the 1984 NCAA Division II Championships and earned All-America honors.

Prior to joining the Springfield College staff, Arroyo was an assistant wrestling coach at California State Fullerton and Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). He received his master’s degree from Fullerton in 1988 and his Ph.D. in sports psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1996.

Arroyo is a graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford, Conn., where he was the 1980 Connecticut state champion at 112 pounds.
