2014 Cultural Exchange Update #3
I’m a little behind on getting this posted. This update is from May 30, and the one from this morning was May 29.

Today was our third day in Istanbul and our first day of competition. Instead of sight seeing, the guys got a few more hours to lounge around today and rest up. Actually ate Turkish pizza today (toppings included corn) which tasted pretty good. Most guys ended up getting three matches today against the Turkish team. Overall the team wrestled very well considering a bunch have very limited freestyle action prior to this trip. The guys really seemed to enjoy competing and it was good to see the guys rooting on their fellow teammates during the matches. After the matches everyone stuck around and traded gear and singlets with the Turkish team which was neat to see people converse without actually speaking the same language. All sight seeing day tomorrow and then tomorrow night we will head to Bulgaria!
