Wheaton’s Olsen Competes In World Championships

Dan Olsen, a 2013 All-American at 184 lbs. for Wheaton College, competed today at 85kg in the University World Championships  in Kazan, Russian. Olsen placed 2nd in the University Nationals and earned a spot on the team in Greco-Roman.

Olsen opened with a 4-2 win over Tajikistan before falling 9-1 to Belarus. That opponent failed to reach the finals, thus eliminating Olsen from the tournament. Three other Americans competed today, with the other three set to go tomorrow. Tyrell Fortune, fresh off a bronze medal in freestyle, placed 5th in Greco-Roman at 120kg.
