Trine Preview

Until this summer, Trine University was Tri-State University.  As a private school, the college wanted to remove the word “State” from the name in order to avoid any confusion.  On the mat, Tri-State has four returning Midwest Region runners-up, though none of them garnered a wild card selection to the NCAA tournament.  It was a good finish for a program beginning its fourth year of competition in the NCAA.  Thomas Pompei and Louis Posa both topped 30 wins, while Nick Kraus and Bryan Wight just missed last year.  Two Indiana state placers and two Michigan state placers join the squad at the Trine, which is located near the meeting of Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.  With a young, large roster, Trine is poised to take the next step in the Midwest Region.
