Season outlook:
Central finished 2011-2012 with its best season in 18 years. A winning record and a national qualifier who is set to return bodes well for the future of the Dutch program. Along with Atwell, who made the round of 12 last season, most of last year’s lineup returns to try to improved on that 13 win total. Freshman Aaron Anderson, an Iowa finalist, should help bolster the lineup at 133. Surrounding him are a pair of tough wrestlers in Daniel Page and TJ Peretti. Both had some big wins last year in a tough conference that has now become the bulk of what promises to be a tough Central Region. Coach Eric Van Kley definitely has this team headed in the right direction and perhaps back toward the success of past Central teams. Getting their first All-American since 2004 will be the next step.
