Season outlook:
Heidelberg welcomes its third coach in as many years as Ned Shuck moves from Minnesota to Ohio take the reigns from Nathan Shearer. He inherits last year’s OAC runner-up team that brings back as many as seven starters from a year ago. Highlighting that group is 2x NCAA qualifier Tom D’Alessandro. D’Alessandro has yet to win a match in his two trip to the tournament, but he will be one of the more experienced wrestlers at the weight. Andrew Johnson was also an NCAA qualifier last season as an unlikely OAC champion. Four other OAC placewinners return in a conference that has just seen its membership drop by one with the recent loss of the Wilmington program. Mount Union will be tough to catch, but Heidelberg, along with conference foe Ohio Northern, will give it a go.
